This study was designed as a descriptive research. The instrument used in this study are a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire, and Good Dairy Farming Practices (GDFP), and Good Milking Practices (GMiP) evaluation form. Data collection was conducted through interviews with 45 dairy farmers, village administrators, and local governments, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) on the solidarity of alumni of the Indonesian People's Animal Husbandry School (SASPRI), while the formulation of a model for improving dairy farmer competencies was carried out using the Participatory Rural Appraisal technique (PRA). The results showed that the GDFP and GMiP values of dairy farms in Tajur Halang Village were in the "Good" category. Stakeholder perceptions showed a high level of suitability for efforts to develop dairy farmer competencies. The formulation of the livestock farmer competency development model yielded three main pillars: tourism village development, program development, and training and mentoring. Based on these findings, dairy farmers already possess strong competencies in livestock farming. However, these competencies are not sufficient for them to play an active role in tourism villages, as they still need to master social and tourism competencies.
2025-08-15T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES)https://jhss-lppm.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JHSS/article/view/80The Mediating Role Of Strengthened Organizational Culture In The Relationship Between Motivation, Job Satisfaction, And Organizational Commitment On Performance In Higher Education Institutions2025-08-15T02:47:30+00:00Yudhie Suchyadiyudhie.suchyadi@unpak.ac.idYan Noviar Nasutionyannoviar@unpak.ac.idLayung Paramesti Martha layungparamesti@unpak.ac.id
This study aims to examine the mediating role of organizational culture in the relationship between work motivation, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment on organizational performance at Universitas Pakuan. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 150 permanent lecturers selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability, and data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and Sobel test for mediation through SPSS software. The results show that work motivation, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment have a positive and significant effect on organizational performance. These three variables also significantly influence organizational culture. Mediation analysis reveals that organizational culture significantly mediates the relationship between motivation, satisfaction, and commitment with organizational performance. These findings indicate that strengthening organizational culture plays a critical role in optimizing the impact of psychological factors on performance outcomes. The practical implication of this study suggests that enhancing organizational culture should become a key strategy in human resource development in higher education institutions. The study also contributes theoretically to the performance management literature in the academic sector and opens avenues for further exploration using qualitative approaches.
2025-07-29T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES)https://jhss-lppm.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JHSS/article/view/31Western Law Is More Protective, Supervision Of Children Under Guardianship: Marriage Law, KHI VS Civil Code2025-05-22T07:20:06+00:00Taufik H. The first is how to regulate the supervision of child guardianship in Indonesia? Second, how effective is the implementation of supervision of children's assets under guardianship? The results of the study concluded that, First, the state's authority to supervise guardianship through BHP is not regulated in the Marriage Law and the Compilation of Islamic Law but is regulated in the Civil Code as a Western legal product. Second, the effectiveness of the BHP guardianship supervision function has not been effective. In the future, regulations are needed that accommodate Pancasila values as a form of protection for children under guardianship. Therefore, it is necessary to make changes to the Marriage Law to accommodate Articles 366 and 369 of the Civil Code, as well as further research on the existence of the Compilation of Islamic Law, which is not yet known in the hierarchy of laws and regulations in Indonesia.
2025-07-29T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES)https://jhss-lppm.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JHSS/article/view/83Effectiveness Of The Printing Service For Teko Deso (Cak Ngateso) Applications In Balongbesuk Village 2025-08-21T13:44:53+00:00Rizky Nizar Wahyu Illahi21041010310@student.upnjatim.ac.idAgus Widiyarta21041010310@student.upnjatim.ac.id
This study aims to analyze and describe the effectiveness of the Cetak Pengajuan Teko Deso (Cak Ngateso) service in Balongbesuk Village, Diwek Subdistrict, Jombang District. Cak Ngateso is a web-based administrative service innovation launched by the Population and Civil Registration Office of Jombang Regency since 2021, focusing on services such as Family Cards, birth certificates, and death certificates at the village level. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using Richard M. Steers' organizational effectiveness model, which includes indicators of goal optimization, system perspective, and pressure on behavior. The research findings indicate that, overall, the Cak Ngateso service in Balongbesuk Village has been effective in facilitating residents in processing population documents without having to visit the Population and Civil Registration Office. This is evidenced by the increasing number of service users each year and the village apparatus's ability to operate the system. However, there are still technical challenges such as server disruptions and infrastructure limitations that can hinder the service process. This study recommends enhancing human resource capacity, improving technological infrastructure, and optimizing the system to ensure that Cak Ngateso's services can operate more stably and reach all villages in Jombang District.

Keywords: service effectiveness, Cak Ngateso, population administration,
2025-08-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES)https://jhss-lppm.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JHSS/article/view/88Increasing interest in writing and ability to write explanatory texts through project-based learning models in students2025-08-29T11:14:06+00:00Eri Afrizaleriafrizal.2022@student.uny.ac.idKastam Syamsieriafrizal.2022@student.uny.ac.id
This study aims to increase interest in writing explanatory texts through a project-based learning model in class XIC students of SMA Negeri 1 Bunyu and improve the ability to write explanatory texts through a project-based learning model in students of class XIC of SMA Negeri 1 Bunyu. Using a qualitative research approach, the study analyzes policy documents, government reports, and previous empirical studies to identify patterns, challenges, and opportunities in digital governance. The findings reveal that developed countries tend to achieve higher levels of citizen engagement due to advanced technological infrastructure, stronger institutional frameworks, and higher digital literacy among citizens. In contrast, developing countries often face barriers such as limited internet access, lack of trust in government institutions, and insufficient resources, which constrain the potential of e-government to foster participation. Nevertheless, innovative strategies such as mobile-based platforms and community-driven initiatives demonstrate that developing countries can leverage contextual strengths to enhance digital engagement. This research highlights the critical role of socio-political contexts, governance structures, and technological readiness in shaping the effectiveness of e-government initiatives. The study concludes that while the pathways differ, both developed and developing countries share a common goal: building inclusive, transparent, and participatory governance through digital transformation.
2025-09-09T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES)https://jhss-lppm.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JHSS/article/view/93Improving the Ability to Read Biographical Texts Through a Student Process Approach2025-09-07T06:50:21+00:00Rajatmanffatahillah31@gmail.comKastam Syamsisantosatomiapra@gamil.com
This study aims to find out the improvement of the learning process in reading biographical texts through the process approach and the improvement of the results of the ability to read biographical texts through the process approach method in students. The method used in this study is a process approach. The subjects taken were 35 students in class X DKV B SMK Negeri 1 Nunukan. This Classroom Action Research is carried out with a process approach The steps taken in reading learning through a process approach, namely the preparation stage are (1) choosing the text; (2) relate the text to personal experience and previous reading experience; (3) predict the content of the text; and (4) conduct a preliminary review of the text. There is a second stage, namely reading, students read the text in its entirety. In the third stage, responding, students respond to their reading activities and continue to try to understand the content. Data collection uses documentation, interviews, observations and tests. The data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive statistical analysis and quantitative data are analyzed with a flow model. The results of this study concluded that the process approach of increasing interest and reading ability to read biographical texts was seen from 34 students whose interest increased from cycle to cycle, both those whose students' interest was classified as less to sufficient, from sufficient to high, or from high to very high. It can also be seen that only one student whose interest has not increased. (2) The process approach is able to improve the ability to read biographical texts as evidenced by the initial conditions, cycle I, and cycle II, there are 28 students or around (75%) whose grades increase from cycle to cycle, there are 3 students whose grades are fixed, and there are 4 students whose grades decrease.
2025-09-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES)https://jhss-lppm.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JHSS/article/view/96The Influence of Self-Regulation on General Self-Efficacy: The Mediating Role of Mental Well-Being among University Students2025-09-12T04:26:32+00:00Yelvia Septi Mayenti Yelvia0930@upi.eduFaradilla Asyifa ZahraYelvia0930@upi.eduKama Abdul HakamYelvia0930@upi.eduElly MalihahYelvia0930@upi.eduMupidYelvia0930@upi.edu
Mental health has become a pressing issue in higher education, with university students increasingly vulnerable to stress, anxiety, and reduced academic engagement. While self-regulation and general self-efficacy are recognized as key determinants of academic adjustment, the mechanisms linking these constructs remain underexplored. This study investigates the influence of self-regulation on general self-efficacy, emphasizing the mediating role of mental well-being among university students. A total of 380 valid responses were collected from undergraduate students in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, using validated scales for self-regulation, mental well-being, and general self-efficacy. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 26 was employed to test the hypothesized relationships. The findings reveal that self-regulation significantly predicts both mental well-being and general self-efficacy. Furthermore, mental well-being demonstrates a positive and significant mediating effect on the relationship between self-regulation and general self-efficacy. These results underscore the importance of mental well-being as a psychological resource that strengthens the pathway between self-regulatory competence and efficacy beliefs. Theoretically, this study extends self-regulated learning models by integrating mental health as a mediating construct, while practically, it highlights the need for higher education institutions to design interventions that foster both self-regulatory skills and psychological well-being. By positioning mental well-being as both an outcome of self-regulation and a driver of self-efficacy, the study provides actionable insights for enhancing student resilience and academic success, particularly in the post-pandemic era
2025-09-03T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES)
