Policy Analysis Of Health Examination Of Hajj Pilgrims In South Sumatra: Collaboration Between The Ministry Of Religious Affairs And The Port Health Office Palembang

Abstrak

Worshiping in a prime condition is a blessing for every religious community. This also applies to Muslims, who have a pillar in their religion that obliges them to perform the Hajj pilgrimage if they are able, both physically and financially. Specifically, for Muslims who are citizens of Indonesia, particularly in the city of Palembang, they face a phenomenon in which the number of Muslims who wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in this country is very large, resulting in the implementation of a waiting list program that requires Indonesian citizens who wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage to wait for a period determined by the government. This condition, which requires Indonesian citizens to wait, combined with the large number of prospective Muslim pilgrims who wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, makes the waiting list provided by the government tend to take a considerable amount of time. The status of many prospective Hajj pilgrims who are in the elderly phase requires them to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage in a non-prime condition due to age factors and diseases they experience in old age. Government policies regarding the limitation of the number and capability of these prospective pilgrims have certainly created problems due to the large number of prospective pilgrims who fail to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
